12/31/2025 - Important Reminder from the Florida Department of Revenue

As a reminder, if you are required to pay estimated sales tax on your sales and use tax account, please remember to recalculate your estimated tax payment on Line 9 of your December 2025 sales and use tax return. If you have already submitted your December 2025 return and did not recalculate your estimated tax payment on Line 9, submit an amended return before 5 p.m. ET on January 16, 2026.

Businesses that underpay or do not pay estimated tax lose their collection allowance and are subject to a 10% penalty plus interest on the underpaid amount. A tax tutorial, “How to Calculate and Pay Estimated Sales and Use Tax,” is available on the Department’s Taxpayer Education webpage.

If you have questions, please contact the Department at (850) 488-6800.
